Expanding Your Social Circle As You Get Older

Many people are turning to online dating as a way to meet the man or woman of their dreams, so why shouldn’t this also be a way to make new friends too? Some online dating sites even offer the option of saying that you only want to find new friends, but on a dating site sometimes this message can become confused.

As you get older, it becomes harder to meet people, and you’ll probably find that your social groups don’t change that much: friends from school/college/university, and friends from work (or several previous places of work), with a few others thrown in for good measure. While these may be very good friends, as you all grow older and lives change, it is easy to find yourselves growing apart or unable to see each other that often. Families and job offers can get in the way and soon you may find that your weekly wine bar gathering is turning into a monthly get together at best.

Rather than signing up for an evening class or hanging around the coffee shop looking hopefully at those that seem interesting, there are easier ways of expanding your social circle. Joining a website dedicated to facilitating meetings between like-minded people is a great way of making new friends. These may be friends that you prefer to keep all to yourself, or it could be that you introduce them to the rest of your group. After all, when it comes to friends, the more, the better!
